The Matanuska-Susitna Borough also has an area for construction and demolition materials at Central Landfill. All material brought in to this area must be non-putricible. This consists of materials such as wood, sheetrock, glass, tires, concrete, and other inert materials of this nature. These items may be disposed of at a reduce per ton rate.

Residents may also wish to come into the construction/demolition area to salvage useful materials. A waiver must be signed prior to salvaging in this area. More information is available about salvaging at the Central Landfill Scale House
