Training Room Information

Request a Training Room
  1. Fill out Facility Use Request Form.
  2. By submitting your CMSFD Facility Use Request, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to the Training Room/Facility Use Rules & Regulations

If you would like to request use of applicable Central Mat-Su Department training rooms (Station 6-1, 6-2 or 6-5), you must have prior approval from the facility coordinator.

 
Liability Insurance

Facility user applicants are required to have private liability insurance or Third Party Users Liabililty Insurance (TULIP) when using the facility for non-borough functions.

The Facility Use Fee Schedule for public, non-borough training room use was implemented July 1, 2008. 

Fee schedule charges do not apply to inter-MSB department use. 

 

Non-emergency service use shall be approved as space is available and on a first come, first serve basis by the Facility Coordinator.

 

Facility Use Requests are approved no more than three months in advance (certain exceptions may apply) and must be submitted to the Facility Coordinator at least two weeks (14 days) prior to requested facility use. Requests may be denied if they are not received within the two week (14 day) requirement.

There are three (3) Central Mat-Su Fire Stations with public training rooms: Station 6-1, 6-2, & 6-5.   

 

Station 6-1 - Central Mat-Su Public Safety Building

  • Located in Wasilla at 101 W. Swanson Avenue, corner of Lucille Street and Swanson Ave.
  • Two (2) training rooms, capacity 50-55 people per room
  • Training Room 1 is closest to the parking lot.
  • Training Room 2 is closest to the restrooms.

Station 6-2 - Knik Public Safety Building  

  • Located at Mile 7 Knik Goose Bay Road, 4500 S. Mainsail Avenue
  • One (1) training room, capacity 30 people

Station 6-5 - Cottonwood Public Safety Building 

  • Located near Palmer-Wasilla Highway, 680 N. Seward-Meridian Parkway
  • Two (2) training rooms, capacity 25-30 people per room
  • Training Room 1 is closest to the offices.
  • Training Room 2 is closest to the parking lot. 
Emergency Services shall have priority use of all facilities. In the event of an emergency, the Facility Coordinator has the authority to adjust, modify or cancel the scheduled facility use. The Department of Emergency Services also retains the right to alter, cancel, or reschedule any facility use request when, after careful consideration, such action is deemed to be in the best interest of the Borough.
