NRMU Summary to Public Comments

NRMU Plan Summary

New 5/27/10:

The Legislative process for the Natural Resource Management Units Plan (NRMU) was proposed for introduction to the Matanuska-Susitna Borough Assembly on June 1, 2010.  This has changed; the NRMU Plan will now be introduced to the Planning Commission on June 21, 2010 and is proposed to be set for Planning Commission public hearing on July 19, 2010. After it moves from the Planning Commission with a resolution of support, we will place new information on this page that contains the proposed Assembly introduction date. You may also watch for Assembly Agenda items on the borough webpage under the Government tab at the top of the main borough page at www.matsugov.us.

NEW 4/12/10: To interested parties please see the attached PDF of the Summary of Public Comments and Response to Public Comments for your information. (Click on link above)

The revised NRMU Plan with input from the recent public & agency comment period will proceed to the Parks, Recreation & Trails Board on April 26th at 5 pm in the Lower Level Conference Room, Dorothy Swanda Jones Administration Building. Next, it will go to the Real Property Asset Management Board on May 10th at 5 pm also in the Lower Level Conference Room. Lastly, the NRMU Plan is on track to be introduced to the borough assembly on June 1, 2010.

A new revised copy of the draft plan will be posted here when it is submitted to the assembly for introduction, on about June 1, 2010.  Until then the NRMU Plan Summary may be used as a quick reference until the final document becomes available. The December 2009 draft is available below.  Please contact Debby @ (907) 745-9863 with questions.
