Hailing from the Land of Ten Thousand Lakes, John Moosey began his tenure as the Matanuska-Susitna Borough Manager on May 2, 2011.
Background:
John began his career as Borough Manager in the college town of Clarion Pennsylvania in 1985. He followed with administrator positions in Middelfield, Ohio, Defiance, Ohio, Brewster, Ohio before settling in North Branch, Minnesota. Serving sixteen years in Minnesota, split evenly between the City of North Branch and Chisago County.
Personal Interest and Family:
John was born in Johnson City, NY, but grew up in Northeast Ohio, becoming a loyal, or some might say cursed, fan of the Cleveland Indians, Browns and Cavaliers. John’s wife, Michelle, is a special education teacher. They have two children: son Jacob, is currently an engineering student at Minnesota State University-Mankato; and daughter Rebecca, also a special education teacher at Cass Lake, Minnesota, is married to Kyle Johnson.
